Occasionally, a parent or child may have an issue with a decision made by a Board of Education employee that cannot be resolved using informal dispute resolution methods.  When people no longer believe they can resolve the issue themselves, a more formal approach may be appropriate.

The goal of a formal dispute resolution process is to arrive at a solution. This solution is provided by someone other than the parties, because they are unable to find a solution on their own. The outcome of a formal dispute resolution process does not usually satisfy both parties.
